Alex Browne donates refrigerator to Glanvilles Polyclinic as token of community’s appreciation for hard-working staff

Alex Browne, the United Progressive Party (UPP) Candidate for St. Phillip’s North, has made the significant and timely donation of a refrigerator to the newly opened Glanvilles Polyclinic.

During a brief handing-over ceremony today, May 9, Browne said he was pleased to do something to show his and the community’s gratitude for the hard work that healthcare workers continue to perform.

The clinic was opened in January, but staff members have complained about several issues, including the shortage of blood-pressure machines.

The workers also said they were struggling to obtain supplies and that there was no cold-storage facility for medications that are to be kept at a certain temperature.

Speaking on behalf of the staff, District Nurse Tomlinson said they greatly appreciated the timely donation and wished the Candidate all the best.

Browne has pledged to continue doing whatever he can to make working conditions better for the clinic workers.

The Glanvilles Polyclinic serves the communities of Glanvilles, Seatons, Willikies, Carty’s Hill, Long Bay and Pares Village.
