ALP Administration is ‘useless’ and has failed to properly assist victims of recent fires, UPP Leader charges
Harold Lovell, Political Leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP), says the Antigua Labour Party (ALP) Administration is useless and needs to go.
His comments were made in reference to several situations challenging the country, including the lack of fire tenders and the Fire Department’s dependency on private water trucks.
Noting the Administration’s inability to provide for the basic needs of workers and the people, in general, Lovell is asking of what use is the Government.
The UPP Political Leader is also disgusted that victims of the recent fires are not being offered the assistance necessary to get them back on their feet, and the social-services departments that should be dealing with these matters appear not to be functioning.
Lovell says the time has come for the people to rid themselves of this useless government and to elect men and women who are more competent and can do a better job.
In the meantime, Lovell says the Fire Department needs at least seven working tenders: three in St. John’s and a minimum of two each for the All Saints and Johnsons Point Stations.
