New wing of Sir McChesney George scheduled to open today, advancing universal secondary education

A new wing at the Sir McChesney George Secondary School on Barbuda was expected to be ready for occupancy today, January 24, according to Principal John Mussington.

Work on the new wing had been underway for about two years and was expected to be completed for the last academic year.  However, due to some delays this did not happen, Mussington says.

A new date, January 20, was given; but some final touches were still being undertaken, preventing delivery on that day, the Principal explains.

He says the construction of the new wing forms part of the Ministry of Education’s universal education initiative.
