PM Browne puts onus on residents to resuscitate the economy in 2022, his ‘Year of Revival’
The country’s Prime Minister says that Antigua and Barbuda will not go into the new year lagging behind economically, and that 2022 will be declared “A Year of Revival.”
PM Gaston Browne’s comments come as December 23 has been announced as the date for removing the State of Emergency and curfew.
He says that each and every citizen and resident will have to put their hands to the plough to take the country out of its current economic hardship, brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pundits have noted that economic hardship was not brought on by the pandemic – only worsened. Had its finances been in better shape, they say, the country would have had an easier time weathering the COVID-19 storm.
