Rotary Club and Diabetes Association consider weekend event a success

The Rotary Club of Antigua and the Antigua and Barbuda Diabetes Association are happy with the outcome of its annual Awareness Walk held on the weekend.

Over 100 persons reportedly turned out for the 2021 Diabetes Awareness Walk on Saturday, November 13.

President of the Rotary Club Joanna Spencer says  the philanthropic organization is happy to have collaborated with the Diabetes Association to raise further awareness about managing and preventing the disease.

Juanita James, President of the Diabetes Association, echoed similar sentiments and thanked the service club for its unwavering support over the years.

Meanwhile, the Rotary Club made a presentation of six blood pressure monitors to the Diabetes Association, fulfilling a request for assistance in this regard.

James says that the gesture will go a long way in assisting persons suffering from the non-communicable disease.
