Students left stranded after most school bus drivers and conductors stage protest at Transport Board Motor Pool
School bus drivers and conductors downed tools this morning, November 9, reportedly leaving quite a number of students stranded across the island.
REAL News was told that a few drivers went out on their usual rounds; however, the majority never left the motor pool to pick up duty.
Reports say the workers refused to operate the vehicles, allegedly in protest of recent human-resource changes at the Antigua Barbuda Transport Board.
The bus drivers and conductors are expected to meet with their union representatives today to air their grievances and iron out the matter.
