Ministry of Health issues second dashboard on Wednesday night, adjusting incorrect number of active cases

The Ministry of Health, on Wednesday night, October 20, put out a dashboard with conflicting figures.

That dashboard showed a discrepancy in the active COVID-19 cases – reporting 26 hospitalizations and 645 people in isolation, for a total of 596 active cases.

However, after realizing – or being told – that the numbers were off, the Ministry published a a second dashboard showing the correct stats.

The hospitalizations remained at 26; however, those in isolation were dropped to 570, and the active cases were corrected to coincide with the given total of 596.

Meanwhile, there were 45 new lab-confirmed infections as of Tuesday, October 19. These were realized from 64 samples processed at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre and 160 at the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA).

Accordingly, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda is 3,984.

Of the hospitalized cases, 16 are mild, five moderate, and five severe, while 120 persons had recovered from the virus up to Tuesday, increasing that total to 3,191.

In the meantime, there are over 47,000 fully vaccinated individuals in Antigua and Barbuda while 8,238 have only received their first dose.
