Female body found in Wireless Road neighbourhood identified as Customs employee, sparking unease among residents
The Police are now investigating circumstances surrounding the discovery of a dead body in an area just off the Wireless Road, this morning, October 15.
Sources have identified the deceased as a female employee of the Customs Department, and sources say she did not die of natural causes.
The revelation has sparked anxiety among some residents, who say they hope this slaying has nothing to do with the high-profile murder and attempted murder of two other Customs Officers, in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
“That thing not over yet,” a man tells our News Room. “Never mind you hear that three people got arrested. That was three out of four. It not over yet,” he says ominously.
Several persons tell REAL News they were shocked and grieved upon learning the identity of the victim. All describe her as very pleasant, friendly, and respectful. “This is soooo wrong,” one woman says about the slaying.
Our correspondent George Wehner was on the scene this morning and filed this report.
Wehner reports further that residents who heard the scream were too afraid to venture out to investigate.
A medical doctor visited the scene and pronounced the woman dead at approximately 9:38 a.m.
The Police are appealing to anyone who might have information on this incident to contact the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at 462-3913, or Crime Stoppers at 800-Tips (8477).
