Woman found in home of apparent homicide victim is charged with burglary and remanded; psychiatric evaluation to follow
As the Police continue to probe the death of Jane Finch, who was found dead in her home, Brittany Jno-Baptiste has been placed on remand on a burglary charge.
Jno-Baptiste, 21, made her first court appearance in the All Saints Magistrate’s Court on Friday, October 8.
The Police allege that she illegally entered the Piccadilly home of 66-year-old Finch, whose lifeless body was found with a stab wound and lying on her living-room floor.
The apparent homicide occurred on the night of October 4 and Jno-Baptiste was found inside the house when the Police arrived.
She is expected to return to court on January 26, 2022. However, in the meantime, a psychiatric evaluation will be conducted on the young woman.
It is not clear why she has not been charged in relation to Finch’s death.
