WEEKEND STATISTICS SHOW ONLY ONE NEW CASE OF COVID

COVID-19 statistics for last Friday, April 16, showed no new cases of the virus, while Saturday’s dashboard reported one new infection as of that date, April 17.

Accordingly, total lab-confirmed cases now stand at 1,217, with 191 active cases.

It was noted that, of the active cases, four are hospitalized.  One is still being considered as having moderate symptoms and three show mild symptoms.

Nine persons have recovered from the virus, increasing that total to 995.

Health officials remain optimistic that new cases will decline even further and the country will return to normalcy very soon.  

Meanwhile, a total of 244 persons received the AstraZeneca vaccine on Saturday, April 17, but there was no vaccination service on Sunday.

This means that 28,883 people have received the jab since vaccinations commenced in February.
