ONLY FOUR NEW CASES REPORTED ON LATEST COVID-19 DASHBOARD

After zero new COVID-19 infections were reported on Wednesday, April 7,  the Ministry of Health released another dashboard, hours after, showing four new infections.

These cases are from results obtained for Monday, April 5.

Officials say that Mount St. John Medical Centre and the Caribbean Public Health Agency, together, tested over 100 samples;  but they did not reveal from which agency the positive samples were realised.

Consequently, the total number of lab-confirmed cases is 1,177; this is inclusive of 237 active cases.  There are 26 new recovered cases, increasing that total to 911.

While the dashboard no longer reveals the number of persons hospitalized with COVID-19, a regional dashboard has revealed there are 45 patients in a condition described as serious or critical.

Meanwhile,  the vaccination numbers remain at just over 27,000.  Public inoculations will resume next week, following today’s arrival of 24,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine under the COVAX mechanism.
