Members of the public seeking birth, death, or marriage certificates and other Civil Registry services are advised of temporary changes to the office's operating hours this week to accommodate the Exercise STRONGHOLD security drill.

The Antigua and Barbuda Civil Registry will operate on reduced hours on Wednesday, July 8, opening from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon only. Members of the public will be required to access the facility through the back gate on St. Mary's Street before noon, entering through the main entrance as usual. After 12 noon, access will resume through the High Street entrance.

The Civil Registry will be fully closed on Friday, July 10, and will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, July 13.

The temporary arrangements are being implemented to accommodate the security lockdown exercises being staged by the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda as part of the three-day Exercise STRONGHOLD operation, which is testing the country's security readiness ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in November.

The Civil Registry joins the High Street Magistrates' Court among the public institutions announcing closures or reduced operations during the exercise, as the designated security zone in St. John's — extending from Newgate Street to New Street and from Parliament Drive to Corn Alley — restricts vehicular and pedestrian access across the heart of the capital.

The Civil Registry has apologised for any inconvenience and has encouraged members of the public who require further information to contact the office at 562-9687 or 562-9688.
