Sex Scandal at HMP Involves Female Officer, Insider Claims, with Authorities Trying to Keep the Matter Quiet

Authorities are trying to keep a sex scandal under wraps, an insider alleges, as mayhem and indiscipline are challenging national security at His Majesty’s Prison.

This time, reportedly, it is the conduct of a female officer that has rocked the disciplinary protocol at 1735.

The source alleges that the woman concerned has been cited for having sexual intercourse with an inmate, on the compound, in almost a dozen instances.

While prison authorities could have called in the Police and dealt with the matter as a criminal case, the source alleges they opted to go the disciplinary route and undertake an internal investigation.

On completion of this inquiry, reports claim the investigator proferred ten (10) disciplinary charges against the offending female for conduct unbecoming of a prison officer.

However, so far, no date has been set for the woman’s trial and she remains on the job, the insider alleges.

It was just two weeks ago that Prime Minister Gaston Browne raked the superintendent of the prison – among other national security heads – over the coals, accusing him of leniency to inmates and moving to strip him of the authority to grant early release for good behaviour.

Now, there are accusations of leniency to staff, reports say, as some persons are wondering why this matter is being dealt with quietly rather than handled as it ought by the Police.
