The Antigua Public Utilities Authority is advising customers of temporary adjustments to its operations this week as the Exercise STRONGHOLD security drill restricts traffic and pedestrian access across sections of St. John’s.

Wednesday, July 8

APUA has advised that pedestrian traffic along High Street will be inaccessible from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Vehicular traffic within the designated security zone will also be impacted as outlined by the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda.

Friday, July 10 — Independence Avenue Business Centre on Reduced Hours

The most significant adjustment falls on Friday, when the APUA Business Centre on Independence Avenue will operate from 12 noon to 4:30 p.m. only. Bill payment and cashier services at that location will be available from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. — a significantly compressed window for customers who rely on the Independence Avenue location for in-person transactions.

Alternative Locations Remain Open

All other APUA bill payment locations and inet stores will maintain the following operating hours during the exercise: Village Walk from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., South Mall from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Market Street from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., inet Old Parham Road from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and inet Market Street from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Mobile Bus at Cassada Gardens

The APUA Mobile Bus will also be available at Cassada Gardens, at the former Head Office, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. — providing an additional option for customers who may find access to the St. John’s locations restricted.

Online Options Available

Customers who wish to avoid the disruption entirely are encouraged to use APUA’s online bill payment services at www.apua.ag or myinethome.apua.ag, through online banking and credit union partners, or by completing inet mobile transactions using the My inet mobile app.

APUA joins the Medical Benefits Scheme, Caribbean Union Bank, the High Street Magistrates’ Court, and the Civil Registry among the growing list of institutions advising customers and the public of adjusted operations during the three-day security exercise.
