Police Force to follow up successful recruitment drive with training to fill shortage created by retirement, deaths, and other circumstances

The Police Force has been engaged in a recruitment drive to increase its
workforce, since, annually, the body experiences a shortage of manpower due
to retirement, deaths, and other circumstances.

Police Commissioner Atlee Rodney says the Force has received quite a volume
of applications from persons interested in serving the country by way of the
institution.

Accordingly, he says, training will begin next Monday, June 3, after the fourth
international Small Island Developing States (SIDS) conference ends on May 30

In the meantime, however, several of the new recruits have been assigned
to work along with seasoned officers at the conference.

That was Commissioner of Police Atlee Rodney.
