Chinese investor sues Asian businesswoman for fraud; CID investigators allegedly stopped from executing search of her home and business

An alleged intervention by the Police top brass reportedly has given breathing
room to an Asian businesswoman accused of stealing millions in assets,
including lands, from a Chinese investor.

The businesswoman, who resides in Antigua, is alleged to have fraudulently
transferred several properties owned by the investor into her own name –
with the assistance of a local attorney.

Inside sources say the matter is under police investigation. However, when a
search warrant reportedly was about to be executed on the Asian woman’s
home and store, the sources allege that the team from the Criminal
Investigations Department (CID) was called off by a superior.

The sources claim the accused woman is one of Antigua and Barbuda’s
economic envoys to China and reportedly holds a diplomatic passport. They
add that she is “very close” to certain politicians – some of whom, allegedly,

have taken trips with her – and she is also alleged to have provided
translation services for the Government.

Accordingly, it is speculated that some strings were pulled in order to prevent
the search of her premises by the CID officers, who, reportedly, are unhappy
and frustrated by the alleged interference in their investigation.

In the meantime, however, REAL News has learned that the investor has taken
the matter to the High Court and is claiming that he was defrauded of at least
$28 million, with the possibility of an even higher claim based on the
investment value of the lands in question.
