Anticipated traffic disruptions send schools to remote-learning platforms today, Monday

All public and private schools will move to the remote-learning platform
today, May 27, to accommodate the opening ceremony of the fourth
international Small Island Developing States (SIDS4) conference.

The decision was taken by the Ministry of Education earlier this month, since
the staging of the event is expected to cause disruptions to traffic island-wide.

Additionally, since last Tuesday, May 21, school buses have not been available
for field trips and tours, among other activities, and this will be the case until
Wednesday, June 5.

However, the usual student transportation services will resume on Tuesday
morning and afternoon for the duration of this period.
All school officials were informed of this decision via a missive dated Monday,
April 29, and captioned “SIDS4 Conference and its Implications for Schools.”
