Ottos yard turns into crime scene as two teens are shot by an unknown person

Two teenagers are nursing gunshot wounds following a shooting
incident in Ottos on Friday afternoon, March 22.

Reports say the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) was
notified of the incident by an officer attached to the 911 emergency
hotline.

It is alleged that the older of the two youth, a 17-year-old of Hispanic
decent, was shot in the foot.

Reports claim that the young man had been sitting in his friend’s
yard when he heard a loud explosion and then felt a burning
sensation in his left big toe.

Meanwhile, the other victim, a 14-year-old from Belmont, had been
resting his head on a table in the yard when he, too, heard a loud
explosion and then saw blood coming from his left leg.

Reportedly, the older youth sustained entry and exit wounds to his
left big toe, while the 14-year-old also sustained entry and exit
wounds to the right hip.

Both teenagers were scheduled to have scans done, but the 17-year-
old was treated and discharged while the 14-year-old was kept for
observation.

Allegations are that the Fingerprint and Evidence Recovery Unit
(FERU) processed the scene and one spent bullet was recovered.
Reportedly, this offence occurred on Rose Street, Ottos, at about
5:54 p.m., and inquiries continue.
