CCTV alerts pastor to intruder in church, but thief takes off leaving his loot behind

A thief almost managed to make off with a quantity of building
supplies from a church on the All Saints Road on Wednesday, March
6.

Reports say the pastor of the Wesleyan Holiness Church, Barnabas
Quinn, telephoned the Criminal Investigations Department (CID)
and reported the offence of sacrilege.

Apparently, the church was broken into and a quantity of paints and
nails was taken; however, they have since been retrieved.

This offence reportedly occurred between 9 p.m. on March 3 and 6
a.m. on March 6.

Reports say the pastor was made aware of the intruder when his
CCTV camera system alerted him at about 5:45 a.m.

As a result, he went to the church, where he saw a man – dressed in
black and of a slim build – running from the northern side of the
building.

Pastor Quinn then carried out a search of the property and found a
quantity of paint and nails on the northern side of the fence.

Upon close examination of the building, he noted that there were no
signs of forced entry.

However, it appeared that a western door had been left unlocked,
which allowed the intruder to gain entry and remove the building
supplies.

Investigations into the matter continue.
