Despite searches and alleged sightings, Vernons resident Kyle Peters remains missing; Police appeal to public for help

The family of missing man Kyle Peters is growing increasingly
concerned about his safety and whereabouts, as the Police follow
several leads in an attempt to find him.

Peters, 23, reportedly has been missing for six days now, and the
Police were alerted to his disappearance by his 53-year-old mother,
a resident of Vernons Estate.

She told officers at the Parham Police Station that her son, who lives
with her, was last seen at home at about 7:30 a.m. on November 28.

When she returned to the house at about 2:10 p.m., she says, she
realized that he was not there and he has not been seen since.

Peters is described as being 6’ tall, slim in build, and weighing about
160-170 pounds; he is light-skinned and had his hair braided in two
cornrows.

Reports say the Police made checks at the Sir Lester Bird Medical
Centre to determine whether anyone fitting Peters’ description had
been admitted; however, they learned that there was no patient by
that name.

Meanwhile, as officers continued to make inquiries into the young
man’s disappearance, they executed a search warrant at the home of
a Wireless Road man. Reportedly, during the operation, nothing
illegal was found.

Additionally, several officers from the “B” Division, along with men
from the Search and Rescue Unit of the Police Force, conducted a
search within the district and its outskirts – the Glanvilles and
Seatons communities – but failed to find Peters.

Reports say that several people in the area were interviewed, and a
Freetown woman recalls seeing Peters and three other young men
near the West Bus Station at about 2:15 p.m. on Friday, December 1.

It is alleged that several other people, at the East Bus Station, also
confirmed seeing the missing man there.

It is further alleged that Peters’ brother received a phone call from
an anonymous person, who invited him to meet at the Antigua
Grammar School – but to come without the Police.  It is not known
whether the brother did so.

In the meantime, anyone knowing Peters’ whereabouts is asked to
contact the Parham Police Station at 463-2060 or call the
Crimestoppers hotline number at 800-TIPS.
