Police detain one male suspected of firearm violation and two on suspicion of robbery

Three men have been assisting the Police with investigations into
the discovery of a gun and robbery allegations.

Reports say that officers conducted an operation in Bendals at about
2:39 p.m. on Monday, November 27, based on certain information
they had received.

As a result, a black Toyota Vitz, registration A60709, occupied by a
Bendals man, was stopped and searched and one modified flare gun
was found containing ammunition.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and
taken to the St. John’s Police Station.

At about 4:50 p.m. that same day, a white Toyota Axio, registration
R4114, occupied by two Bathlodge men, was seen in that area.

The vehicle was stopped and searched but nothing illegal was
found. However, both men were arrested on suspicion of robbery
and taken to the St. John’s Police Station.

Later on that day, officers executed search warrants at the homes of
the three suspects after 5 p.m. but, again, nothing of interest was
found.

The suspects, who were present during the searches, were returned
to the station pending further investigations.
