DeFreitas believes Browne’s plan is to leave office with the people mired in debt

It appears that Finance Minister Gaston Browne is planning to move
Antigua and Barbuda into the category of ‘failed state,’ says Franz
deFreitas, the United Progressive Party (UPP) caretaker for St.
John’s City South.

In light of the Browne Administration taking out another loan – of
US$100 million – to address issues at the V.C. Bird International
Airport and for other matters, deFreitas says it is seeking to
pauperize the people of Antigua and Barbuda who will have to repay
the money.

The UPP caretaker believes that Browne is deliberately plunging the
country into debt in the knowledge that he will not be in office for
much longer.

DeFreitas says the people need to stand up for what is right and stop
this Administration from going into all these massive borrowings.

And he is hoping that citizens and residents are willing to do what it
takes to take back their country and reverse its economic fortunes.
