Town hall meeting on university-campus expansion and relocation of Five Islands Primary is now set for next Thursday

The town hall meeting to discuss plans for the expansion of The
University of the West Indies (UWI) Five Islands Campus and to
engage members of the public is now set for next
Thursday, November 23, at 7 p.m., at The UWI Five Islands campus.
The meeting had been set for last month, October, but had to be
rescheduled due to the passage of Hurricane Tammy.

According to education officials, the event is an important
opportunity for members of the Five Islands community and
the public to get involved, learn more, and share feedback about the
expansion of the campus and the relocation of the Five Islands
Primary School.

The affair is being hosted by the Ministry of Education and The
UWI Five Islands, and representatives from both entities will be on
hand to answer questions and provide information.

Officials say the expansion will include the construction of new
academic and administrative buildings, student housing, and sports
and recreation facilities.

Reportedly, a new primary school will be located on a nearby
property and will feature state-of-the-art teaching and
learning facilities.
