UPP takes victory lap through St. Mary’s South with whistlestop on Saturday, then celebrates in thanksgiving service on Sunday

A final Whistlestop and Victory Rally, as well as a thanksgiving
church service, will be held this weekend, as the United Progressive
Party (UPP) celebrates its win in the recent St. Mary’s South by-
election.

UPP candidate Kelvin “Shugy” Simon – now MP-Elect – defeated the
Antigua Labour Party’s Dwayne George by 174 votes, amassing a
total of 1,065 against his opponent’s 891 in the October 24 poll.

Plans for both weekend activities are in top gear, with the
whistlestop and rally set for Saturday, November 4, beginning at 4
p.m., at the Jennings Primary School.

The caravan will wend its way through the constituency and
culminate at the Bolans Sports Complex for a grand rally with a slate
of dynamic speakers and entertainment.

Then on Sunday, November 5, the Party will meet at the Bolans
Wesleyan Holiness Church at 4 p.m. to give thanks for God’s mercies
and for delivering the victory to Simon.

D.Gisele Isaac, UPP chairman, is inviting supporters and St. Mary’s
South residents to come out in their numbers and support both
events.
