Former PM concerned about the state of the economy and believes things could be better in spite of Govt’s challenges

Former Prime Minister Dr. Winston Baldwin Spencer says he is
concerned about the current state of the economy – not only as the
former head of government and a supporter of the United
Progressive Party (UPP), but as a citizen of Antigua and Barbuda.

Spencer says he honestly believes that things could be much better
in spite of the challenges the Government might be facing.

While he acknowledges the serious challenges impacting the
country, Spencer says it is the manner in which these issues are
addressed and how the Administration involves the people that will
make the difference.

He believes the Browne Administration should be looking to
incorporate persons with the relevant know-how into the decision-
making process, since their expertise could be useful in addressing a
number of problems.

Spencer says the Administration’s unilateral approach shows there
is a disconnection from the people of Antigua and Barbuda, which is
disastrous in getting the issues resolved.
