Altercation outside nightclub ends with gunshots fired; Police find two injured men in hiding

Two men are reportedly nursing injuries as a result of a shooting in
the vicinity of the G-Spot Nightclub on Independence Drive, which
reportedly occurred at about 3:45 a.m. on September 30.

Allegedly, an anonymous caller telephoned Police Headquarters and
reported that several gunshots had been heard at the nightclub.

As a result, several officers from the Criminal Investigations
Department (CID) and the Special Service Unit (SSU) visited the
scene to conduct investigations into the report.

The nightclub owner was interviewed, and she reportedly told the
Police that, at about 3:25 a.m., she had heard a commotion on the
eastern side of the club, which apparently involved some patrons.

Reportedly, these individuals were escorted outside, and,
subsequently, a further altercation developed by Miguel’s
Barbershop, which is located to the south of the establishment.

A number of persons reportedly said they heard about four
gunshots and saw persons running in various directions.

The Police carried out a search, and two males were found under the
barbershop. They were taken into custody, and the officers
reportedly were able to obtain some useful information from them
about the incident.

Both men were later taken to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre for
treatment.

A source says that lawmen were able to recover a number of items
on the scene for investigation purposes, and these will likely be
exhibited in a prosecution.

Inquiries into the shooting continue.
