MBS has embarked on community road show that allows residents to be screened for illnesses virtually at their doorstep

The Medical Benefits Scheme (MBS) has embarked on a series of
free road shows aimed at having beneficiaries and members know
their health status by taking testing to their doorsteps.

The event, dubbed the “Five Stop Road Show – Community Health
Fair” – began earlier this week, at the Old Road Primary School,
where several screenings were offered, including breast and
prostate testing, along with screening for blood sugar and
cholesterol.

Several other healthy and fun activities were held for the overall
well-being of those who attended, both adults and children.
Dr. Janelle Charles-Williams, the communications and marketing
manager, says these screenings are important; they allow persons to
detect health issues early and commence treatment earlier, thereby
saving lives.

Charles-Williams says the second stop will take place next
Wednesday, July 5, at the Pares Primary School.

Over the four following Wednesdays, the road show will pull up at
the Five Islands Primary School on July 12; the Sir McChesney
George Secondary in Barbuda on July 19; and culminate at the Cedar
Grove Primary School on July 26.

Moving with the road show, as well, will be a company that offers
pain-management solutions.

The public relations and marketing manager is inviting members of
the respective and neighbouring communities to take part in this
initiative.
