Two more sexual assaults on women take place in urban neighbourhoods, while father reports rape of his teen daughter

Fears about a serial rapist being on the prowl appear to be justified, as two incidents in which women were sexually assaulted in their homes are being investigated, while the Police are inquiring into another report involving a teenage victim.

Reports say that a 36-year-old Whenner Road woman was sexually violated by a masked man who broke into her home and committed an offense of serious indecency on her.

The matter has been reported to the Special Victims Unit and officers reportedly have processed the scene.

This offence reportedly occurred on Thursday, March 30, at about 3:10 a.m.

Meanwhile, another woman, also in her 30s and a resident of Grays Hill complained to the Special Victims Unit that she had been raped.

She reported that an unknown man had broken into her home last Wednesday, March 29, at about 2:18 a.m., and had committed the sexual act against her.

The Police have also processed the scene of this offence.

About two months ago, a victim complained to REAL News that the Police are not taking seriously the spate of rapes and other sexual assaults being committed in the Golden Grove/Creekside area.

At the time, she said the public had not been properly alerted and that officers and police cars were not being seen in the area at night, when a greater presence could serve as a deterrent.

Following that and several similar incidents, a man was caught and beaten by a group of Browne’s Avenue residents after they were alerted by a woman’s screams.  Reportedly, he had broken into the home of a woman who feared she would be sexually assaulted.

In another, though possibly unrelated, incident, a father reported to the Bolans Police Station that his 15-year-old daughter had been raped by an unknown male.

The victim was interviewed by the police in the presence of her father, and the matter has been referred to the Special Victims Unit, which has given certain directives to the parent.

This offence reportedly occurred sometime between May and June 2021 in Jolly Harbour.
