Consumer Affairs to promote energy-conservation measures among residents to mark World Consumer Rights Day

The Prices and Consumer Affairs Division is on a mission to sensitise residents on steps they can employ in their daily lives to conserve energy.

This comes as the Division joins the rest of the world in observance of World Consumer Rights Day on March 15, under the theme, “Empowering Consumers Through Clean Energy Transitions.”

According to the department’s press officer, Joanne Peters, an increase in awareness is the first step in getting residents to transition to clean-energy practices.

A media-emphasis day will be broadcast via State media today, Monday, March 13, and residents are invited to attend a panel discussion on Tuesday, March 14, at 9:30 a.m., at the Villa Polyclinic.

Panelists at Tuesday’s event will include renewable-energy specialists and officials from the Antigua & Barbuda Bureau of Standards.
