Yet another discovery of marijuana at a port of entry, as $48,000 worth of the drug is seized at airport cargo shed

The Police seized eight pounds of marijuana during an operation at the V.C. Bird International Airport on Wednesday, February 15.

Along with Customs officers, the cops conducted an anti-narcotics operation at the cargo shed, where they discovered a box with eight vacuum-sealed packages containing the controlled substance.

Reports are that the drug carries an estimated street value $48,000.

This is the latest seizure made at a main port of entry. On Tuesday, February 14, a large shipment of 9 mm ammunition was seized at the Deep Water Harbour.

The Police had detained someone for questioning in connection with the discovery of the 250 rounds of Luger ammunition. However, there has been no word on whether this person was charged.
