One year after murders of Golden Grove couple, no arrest has been made and police are still appealing for public’s help

Today marks exactly one year since the gruesome double murder of
a Golden Grove husband and wife, Pietja (Pia) Visser-Baptiste and
Tyrone Baptiste; and no one has yet been arrested for the crime.
Reportedly, the Police are still conducting investigations into the
matter, and they, along with Crime Stoppers Antigua & Barbuda,
continue to solicit the public’s help in bringing the perpetrators to
justice.

The grim discovery was made at the couple’s Golden Grove home on
Wednesday, July 20, at about 9:15 a.m. Reports say that Pia’s body
was found in a bedroom while Tyrone’s was found on a sofa in the
living room.

Both Pia, 61, and Tyrone, 64, were shot. In addition to multiple
gunshot injuries to the couple, the husband also had a knife wound,
according to Crime Stoppers.

It was a co-worker who notified the Police after Pia, the former
manager of Tropical Adventures, failed to show up for work.
It is believed that the intruders gained entry by using a six-inch
block as elevation to gain access to a kitchen window. However, to
this day, it has not been established how many assailants entered
the home.
