Nearly $60k reportedly stolen from C.O. Williams in inside job, while money bag goes missing from unlocked delivery truck

Investigations have been mounted into a number of break-ins and larcenies, including one in which almost $60,000 was stolen from a company.

A source says the sum of $59,000 has been reported missing from the road-construction company C.O. Williams.

The discovery reportedly was made by the firm’s administrative assistant and accounts manager, who, in turn, reported the matter to the Criminal Investigations Department.

According to a source, someone in the company is suspected of stealing the money during the period June to October this year.

Meanwhile, a quantity of items was reportedly stolen from the East Bus Station’s Transport Board Dispatch Outlet.

That discovery was made by a Swetes Village man, who works as the dispatcher at the location.  He reported to the Police that the outlet had been broken into and one Lasco fan, a broom, and a large roll of paper towel had been stolen.

This offence reportedly occurred sometime between 3:30 p.m. on December 3 and 7:47 a.m. on December 5.

In another incident, a wholesale company is out of money after someone stole a bag containing an undisclosed sum of cash and cheques.

The bag allegedly had been placed in the delivery truck by a Cassada Gardens employee, who then left the vehicle unattended.  Upon his return, he found the money bag gone.

He reported the matter to the Police and told them he had gone to deliver some goods to Prince Supermarket in Urlings, leaving the vehicle door unlocked and the deposit bag in the section between the seats. 

After transacting the business, he returned to the truck and discovered that the money bag was missing.

A search was carried out in the area for the blue money bag with the inscription RBTT, as well as for an alleged perpetrator, but without success.

This offence reportedly occurred on December 5 between 2:30 and 2:45 p.m.
