Second cohort comprising 26 women complete their training in bee-keeping and will graduate this afternoon

A second cohort of women who have been trained in bee-keeping will be graduating this afternoon, June 23. Thirty of them took part in the training, and 26 participants will be receiving their certificates.

Sylvenita Charles, one of the programme’s organisers, says it has been quite a journey to get to this stage.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which hit a number of families very hard, Charles says the project was conceived to assist women to secure a second income.

Out of this group, Charles says, a team was selected to market the products that are being produced.

Today’s graduation exercise will take place at 3:30 p.m. at the Youth Enlightenment Academy – the former BBC station – in Lightfoot.
