Ministry of Health reports 12 new COVID-19 cases, but only one hospitalization at present

Hospitalizations for COVID-19 have dropped from three to one, while there are 12 new lab-confirmed cases of the virus on island.

The Ministry of Health’s most recent dashboard reports that these infections are for a three-day period. There were six positive cases recorded on April 7, three on April 8 and three on April 10.  

Some 169 samples were processed at the hospital from which the positive cases were realized.

The single hospitalized case is said to be mild, and there have been nine recovered cases.  

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports allege that there are more than 10 cases at a government institution, where residents have been placed in isolation.

The total lab-confirmed cases in Antigua and Barbuda now stands at 7,523, which is inclusive of 23 active cases.

Meanwhile, there are still fewer than 62,000 fully vaccinated persons. Those who have received only one dose of the vaccine number 2,184.
