Consumer Rights Day will feature education forum on digital currency, presented by local banks

The Prices and Consumer Affairs Division will be hosting a forum on Digital Currency (DCash) as part of this year’s activities for Consumer Rights Day.

Press Information Officer Joanne Peters says the event is a collaboration between two entities – the Antigua and Barbuda Bankers Association and the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), which will be hosting a special presentation to address the 2022 theme.

Peters says the first public forum will be held tomorrow, March 9, and will be hosted via Zoom, from 10 am to noon.

Peters says that on March 15, World Consumer Rights Day, the Division will be partnering with the Central Bank for the second forum, from 10 am to noon, also. The bank will be presenting on its digital currency (DCash) initiative.

Peters says this will be a great opportunity for business owners to learn more about digital currency and how to make it part of their business operations.

Further details of both events can be obtained from the Division’s Instagram and Facebook pages.
