MP Walker says PM Browne’s reference to IMF advice contradicts his position not to publish Article IV Reports
Trevor Walker, the Member of Parliament for Barbuda, is calling on the Gaston Browne Administration, yet again, to release the IMF’s Article IV Reports.
Since it took office in 2014, the Administration has not published any of the documents compiled annually by the international agency.
Therefore, Walker says it is ironic that Browne referred to the IMF Report during a radio programme this past weekend when he refuses to make it public.
According to Walker, all the other countries in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) have published their reports – which makes him wonder what the Antigua and Barbuda Government is trying to hide.
IMF Article IV Reports provide an independent analysis of member-countries’ economic health. Pundits say that serious companies and individuals use these documents to determine their level of investment, if any, in developing countries.
