Man convicted of murdering young Antiguan attorney will be sentenced tomorrow in Anguilla court

The man who murdered Taitu Kai Goodwin, the daughter of former Antigua and Barbuda Ambassador to Cuba Bruce Goodwin, will be sentenced tomorrow, February 17, in Anguilla.

Following a trial in December 2021, a jury unanimously found Glenville Hodge guilty of murdering the young attorney.  Hodge, her ex-boyfriend, was found to have stabbed Goodwin, 27, to death at her home on September 9, 2019.

An alumna of the Antigua Girls High School and the Antigua State College, Taitu studied in France and reportedly excelled at the language.  She earned a degree in law and, as a national of Antigua and Barbuda, enjoyed the distinction of being crowned Miss Anguilla in 2012.

Her family, to this day, reportedly is trying to come to grips with her tragic passing.
