Watts accuses PM Browne of jumping the queue for reduction on farmers’ water bills

Algernon “Serpent” Watts is accusing Prime Minister Gaston Browne of shamelessly taking advantage of a reduction on farmers’ water bills, which apparently has not yet been approved.

Acting Agriculture Extension Officer Ikah Fergus has confirmed that the Administration has placed on board a proposal for farmers to receive a 25 percent discount on their water bills.

However, he says, the logistics of the proposal have not yet been worked out.

Meanwhile, Watts, who called in to the Eye on the Issues programme today, February 15, says that several of the large farmers are not even aware of such an offer.

However, Watts, the United Progressive Party Candidate for St. George, alleges that the Prime Minister has already applied for his discount, although the programme has not yet been effected.
