Two days’ case load tops 400 new virus infections, while hospital reports four more deaths

The most recent report from the Ministry of Health has revealed four hundred and nineteen (419) new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19, as of Friday, January 21, at 6 p.m.

Two hundred and twenty-five (225) of these were recorded on January 20 and one hundred and ninety-four (194) the following day.  

Officially, Antigua and Barbuda’s case count is now six thousand four hundred and forty-two (6,442), inclusive of one thousand one hundred and nineteen (1,119) active infections.

There are 16 hospitalized cases, with two (2) being severe and 14 mild.  One hundred and seven (107) recovered cases were reported for the same period. 

Meanwhile, there have been another four virus-related deaths reported by the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.  

Of these, two families are alleging that their relatives contracted the virus while in the hospital.
