COVID-19 dashboard now updated to reflect deaths in the community, with total now at 117

Nine more COVID-19-related deaths have been added to the Ministry of Health’s dashboard, increasing the total to 117.

The Ministry of Health, in a release issued last weekend, explained that eight deaths that had occurred in the community — outside of the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre – had been confirmed, and were now being added to the official record of coronavirus fatalities.

Apparently, there was also another death, presumably at the hospital, which brought the addition to nine.

Meanwhile, one new lab-confirmed case was recorded for Saturday, November 20.

The positive case was realized from 84 samples processed at the hospital.
Eighteen recovered cases were recorded, increasing that total to 3,992.

At present, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda is 4,136 and these include 27 active cases. There are now five persons hospitalized, three of whom are mild cases, one moderate, and one severe.
