Extension Officer completing report on crop destruction to enable vandalized farm to receive assistance from Agriculture

The Agriculture Extension Division is wrapping up a report on the recent destruction of crops on the farm of Alvin Christian, and this will be presented to Ministry of Agriculture officials

Olawabi Elabanjo, the Ministry’s Senior Extension Officer, has estimated that the value of the destroyed plants could be more than $100,000, and he says an official assessment is taking place.

Elabanjo says the assessment and report have to be undertaken in order for Christian to secure assistance from the Ministry.

The Extension Officer reiterates that this vandalism has not only been a great loss to the farmer, but to the country’s food security.
