High recovery numbers push active COVID cases below 400, while 55,000 people have been jabbed

As more and more people are recovering from the COVID-19 virus, active infections have been reduced to 391 in a 24-hour timeframe.

The Ministry of Health is reporting that 12 new lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases were recorded  on Saturday, October 23.

Eighty-three samples were processed at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre and 71 at the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) from which the positive cases were realized.  

There were 75 recovered cases, which finally dropped the active numbers below 400. As a result, total recoveries are now 3,541.

The total number of lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda, therefore, is 4,031. 

Hospitalizations have improved, as 22 people are at the medical facility, with four having a severe form of the virus. Fourteen people are exhibiting mild symptoms while four have moderate symptoms.

Meanwhile, close to 49,000 people have been fully vaccinated, while 6,906 have received their first dose.
