ACTIVE COVID-19 INFECTIONS ARE NIW DOWN TO THREE, WITH NO HOSPITALIZED CASES


COVID-19 figures released on Tuesday, June 8, show there is one new recovered case, which has dropped the country’s active infections to three.

The Ministry of Health says it has not received any new reports from the Mount St. John Medical Centre or the Caribbean Public Health Agency as of Sunday, June 6. However, the recovered case was realized from samples processed over the weekend. 

Therefore, Antigua and Barbuda’s total number of lab-confirmed virus cases remains at 1,263. There are no hospitalized cases.
 
Meanwhile, the number of residents receiving their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is increasing. It has now reached 34,368, which is still less than half the figure that the Government is hoping to have inoculated.
 
The Administration’s goal, by the end of the summer, is to have some 70,000 adults fully vaccinated.
 
In the meantime, over 22,000 people, to date, have received their second jab.
