HANNA THOMAS HOSPITAL STILL NEEDS EQUIPMENT THAT WILL ENABLE BARBUDANS TO ACCESS CERTAIN SERVICES AT HOME

The resident physician on Barbuda, Dr. Jeremy Deazle, is hoping that the Hanna Thomas Hospital can become self-sufficient in treating patients on the sister island.

The hospital was badly damaged during the passage of Hurricane Irma in 2017, but it has since been renovated.

While the hospital is operational, Dr. Deazle says it requires several pieces of vital equipment. These will alleviate the need for Barbudans to travel to Antigua to receive certain services.

The doctor says that lack of finance is a major contributing factor to the hospital not being fully equipped.
