In a major blow to the upcoming festive season, Sir Clarence Leonard “Oungku” Edwards Esq. GCH, KCN has officially announced the cancellation of all scheduled performances. The decision follows a recent medical emergency that led to the immediate hospitalization and treatment of Sir Clarence.
According to the official release, the decision to pull out of upcoming events was made after consulting closely with Sir Clarence's medical team following a comprehensive clinical evaluation.
Physicians have strictly advised the veteran soca star to refrain from all live performances and physically demanding activities to prevent any setbacks to his health.
"Following a comprehensive evaluation, physicians have advised that I refrain from all performance-related activities for a minimum of four to six weeks," Sir Clarence stated. "This recommendation has been made in the interest of protecting my health and ensuring a safe return to the stage."
The timing of the medical hiatus is particularly tough for both the band and their massive regional fanbase, as Antigua’s high-energy carnival season is fast approaching. Sir Clarence expressed deep regret over the unavoidable scheduling conflict, acknowledging the impact it has on the cultural landscape.
"This decision was not easily made," Sir Clarence shared, noting how much he treasures the energy of the season. He extended his sincere apologies to the loyal fans, event promoters, and corporate partners who will be affected by the sudden cancellations. Ultimately, he emphasized that safeguarding his long-term health must remain the absolute priority during this window.
