Antigua and Barbuda's reigning queen of soca is taking her talents across the Atlantic, with Claudette "CP" Peters announced as a headline performer at the Montserrat Festival UK 2026 celebration in London next month.

Peters has been confirmed as a headline performer for the MFUK 26 "Rising from the Ashes" celebration scheduled for July 18 in London. Organisers said the event will feature the 10-time Soca Monarch Queen as part of a celebration of Montserratian culture, music, and community.

A Career Spanning Two Decades of Caribbean Excellence

Peters, who is recognised as the first female artist to win Antigua and Barbuda's Road March title, has built a regional career spanning more than two decades. She is known for songs including Something Got A Hold On Me, All I Know, Go Claudette Go, Not U, and Diva.

Event organisers described Peters as one of the Caribbean's most accomplished entertainers, citing her influence on carnival music and her support for emerging artists across the region.

A Celebration of Resilience and Heritage

The London-based celebration is expected to attract members of the Montserratian diaspora and supporters from across the Caribbean community. Organisers said Peters' performance will add to a programme focused on heritage, resilience, and unity, and the event is being promoted as one of the major highlights of this year's Montserrat Festival UK activities.

The theme "Rising from the Ashes" carries deep resonance for the Montserratian community — a reference to the devastating 1997 volcanic eruption that buried the island's capital Plymouth and forced the evacuation of a large portion of the population, many of whom settled in the United Kingdom. For that diaspora, annual festival celebrations in London have long served as a vital thread connecting them to their homeland, their culture, and each other.

The selection of CP Peters — a figure who transcends national borders across the Eastern Caribbean soca circuit — as the event's headline act is a fitting tribute to the cross-island bonds that define Caribbean festival culture.
