Students and staff of Bendals Primary School now have access to improved water storage facilities following a donation by Junior Chamber International Antigua, in the latest act of community investment by the young leaders' organisation through its Adopt-A-School Initiative.
The contribution forms part of JCI Antigua's ongoing Adopt-A-School Initiative, a programme aimed at supporting educational institutions through practical assistance and community engagement projects. The donation was spearheaded by JCI Antigua's Youth Empowerment Committee and was formally presented during a brief ceremony at the school.
Encouragement for Common Entrance Candidates
Speaking during the presentation, JCI Antigua President Collet Gordon extended best wishes to students preparing to sit their Common Entrance Examinations, encouraging them to approach the milestone with confidence and determination. Youth Empowerment Committee Chairman Jawan Jackson also offered words of encouragement, emphasising the importance of education, perseverance, and community support in helping young people achieve their goals.
Bendals Primary School Expresses Gratitude
The Principal of Bendals Primary School expressed sincere appreciation for the donation, noting that the water tanks will serve as a valuable resource for the institution, and thanked JCI Antigua for its continued investment in the well-being and development of students.
A Mission of Positive Change
The donation reflects JCI Antigua's broader mission of creating positive change through sustainable community initiatives. Through its Adopt-A-School Programme, the organisation continues to partner with schools across Antigua and Barbuda to address identified needs while fostering stronger connections between young leaders and their communities.
Water access and storage remain an ongoing infrastructure challenge for a number of school facilities across the island, making the donation a practical and immediately impactful contribution to the learning environment at Bendals Primary — one that will serve students for years to come.
