Motorist complains of malicious damage after losing windshield to stone from weed-whacker

Several malicious damage offences are under investigation, including one in
which a man damaged a motor vehicle while cutting grass.

It is alleged that a Vernons resident was travelling south to north on Jonas
Road, where an unknown man was cutting grass with a weed-eater.

Reports say the motorist sounded his vehicle horn while approaching, but the
man did not stop cutting the grass.

Further reports say the driver then heard a sound and observed that the front
windscreen of his CRV jeep had been shattered.

Reportedly, he then stopped the vehicle, approached the alleged offender, and
telephoned the All Saints Police Station to report the incident.

Apparently, as the All Saints man was cutting the grass,
a stone had struck the vehicle’s glass.

This offence is alleged to have occurred at 3 p.m. on May 30.

Meanwhile, a resident of Evergreen Tree Road, Liberta, had several tiles in
her unoccupied house damaged.

The woman went to the Liberta Police Station and reported that someone had
unlawfully and maliciously damaged four tiles on the living room floor in the
house.

Apparently the perpetrator had used a hard implement to cause the damage.
A search was carried out for an alleged offender, but without success.

Reportedly, this offence occurred on May 29.
