Hospital and medical colleagues congratulate Dr. Vonetta George on attainment of prestigious fellowship at the ACHE

A doctor at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre has attained
prestigious fellowship at the American College of Healthcare
Executives (ACHE), and her achievement is being praised by the
hospital and her colleagues.
 
Dr. Vonetta George is being celebrated, since this prestigious
accolade follows her success in passing the rigorous ACHE Board of
Governors Examination.

Recognized as the gold standard for board certification in health
management, the FACHE credential signifies leadership excellence,
unwavering commitment to service, and profound recognition as a
distinguished industry leader.

Therefore, Dr. George’s attainment of this credential is a testament
to her exceptional leadership qualities and unyielding commitment
to advancing healthcare management. 


Dr. George – who is originally from the village of Newfield – serves
as the chief of surgery and a consultant general surgeon at the
hospital.
 
According to her biography, she holds dual Masters degrees in
emergency medicine and healthcare administration; and with over
19 years of medical practice, she brings a wealth of expertise to her
roles. 
 
Dr. George holds membership in the Golden Key International Honor
Society; the Antigua and Barbuda Medical Association; the Pan-
American Trauma Society; and the Caribbean Society of Endoscopic
Surgeons. 

Additionally, she serves as the chair of the Antigua & Barbuda
Medical Council, signifying her leadership and influence in shaping
medical governance, and is a fellow of The Caribbean College of
Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.
 
Dr. George is a passionate advocate for health-sector disaster
management and health emergencies, and she is Antigua and
Barbuda’s national focal point for the WHO Emergency Medical
Team Initiative. 
 
Before that, she chaired the EMT Strategic Advisory Group in The
Americas.
