Police receive bomb threat at headquarters, but units check the building and clear it for work to resume

The Police are now investigating a crime committed against one of its offices on Wednesday, April 19.

Reports say there was a bomb threat at Police Headquarters on American Road, which resulted in the building being evacuated and several units being deployed to sweep for the device.

It is unclear whether any explosives were found, but the building eventually was cleared for officers to return to work as normal.

There were at least two bomb hoaxes at government departments last year, including at the Social Security Scheme’s Long Street office.

Checks were made, but no bomb was found. Investigations into that incident reportedly continue.
